The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum of England (EYFS)

We place emphasis on Physical Development –developing children’s control and coordination, and being able to handle tools, pencils etc. effectively and safely. Meanwhile, we encourage children to develop good habits in terms of their health, diet and exercise, including taking care of their basic personal hygiene needs such as dressing in a neat and tidy way, using the bathroom appropriately and washing hands regularly.
Communication and Language – Children will learn how to listen attentively, being able to answer questions most specifically the ‘How ‘and ‘Why’. They will also be able to follow instructions and to express themselves ultimately in English as well as Chinese.
In terms of Personal Social and Emotional Development, we set up experiences and opportunities for children to play co-operatively and offer guidance for them to be aware of other people’s needs and feelings, making sure that children understand why some behaviour is deemed acceptable and others not. Also, we develop the children’s self confidence and awareness, and thus they will be comfortable in trying new experiences. When children follow the rules, they will also be recognised and rewarded.
